The Knives Out "franchise" may be close to getting a third film.

In a recent sitdown with all the cast and crew members, the film's director, Rian Johnson, is entertaining the ongoing fan idea of the film crossing over with Muppets. 

Specifically, Johnson describes a film with Craig David's Benoit Blanc as the only human as "a pretty good idea."

The issue is that the Knives Out sequels are owned by Netflix after the original movie was published by Lionsgate under Disney.

Even if it ends up exclusively on Disney+ as compensation for using Muppet characters, it will still be fun to see the Muppets in a murder mystery. 

Hopefully, all of this interest in the crossover is enough to get Johnson excited to get to work on a third film.
