The year 2022 is coming to an end and several notable smartphones have been launched in the country by companies like Samsung, Apple, OnePlus, Xiaomi and more.
From Google launching its flagship
Pixel devices in India for the first time after 2018 to Carl Pei-led Nothing launching its first
android phone, the year was great for tech enthusiasts. 2023 is also expected to be filled with major launches in different price segments.
Most of the top brands have already started working on their flagship devices and we are already seeing rumors and leaks about popular devices.
Apple iPhone 15
Apple’s launch of iPhone devices is one of the biggest highlights of the year, and the
iPhone 15 is no different. While the Cupertino giant is expected to launch its flagship series in September 2023, reports of the devices are already pouring in.
The company is expected to make major changes, including using a USB Type-C port to comply
EU rulesusing solid-state buttons and ditching the Max moniker to launch the iPhone 15 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
After Apple, Samsung takes the stage for one of the biggest launches of the year. The Korean smartphone maker will be one of the first companies to launch its flagship devices in 2023.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S23 series in February 2023, comprising the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Reportedly use only Snapdragon chipsets globally, which means the devices are powered by the
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset announced last month.
Google Pixel 8
Google has also started work on the Pixel 8 series. With the launch of the recent Pixel 7 series in India, we expect the company to launch the next iteration of its flagship devices in the country.
Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones in India with a new chipset, likely the Tensor G3, which will be unveiled next year. There is not much information about the devices at the moment.
OnePlus 11
The OnePlus 11 is another interesting flagship that is expected to launch in the coming months. The device has already leaked and we know what it could look like. The device is expected to have a large circular camera module on the back and an alert slider. The company is expected to drop the “Pro” moniker for its upcoming flagship series. The OnePlus 11 is expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The battery is also expected to improve greatly, with the OnePlus expected to offer a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
Xiaomi 13 series
Xiaomi is expected to introduce its Xiaomi 13 series comprising Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphones in its home country of China in the coming weeks. In 2023, the devices will find their way to India in one go or separately.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra was recently
spotted on BIS, hinting that the Indian launch is imminent. The device is expected to come with premium features such as a 2K E6 AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and 120W fast charging. We expect the device to be launched in the country in the first half of 2023.
Samsung Galaxy Z series
Samsung, the current leader in the foldable segment, is launching the successors to the
Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphones in India in the second half of 2023. It will be exciting to see what improvements the Korean smartphone giant is making to its foldable phones.
Like current Galaxy foldables, next year’s foldables will also be more expensive. While not much is known about the next-generation foldable devices, they are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
Google Pixel Fold
Samsung is one of many companies working on foldable phones. Google has been working on foldable phones for a while now and is expected to launch its first foldable device, the
Pixel foldMay 2023.
The Pixel Fold is expected to be powered by the Tensor G2 chipset paired with up to 12 GB of RAM. It is expected to have a triple camera setup on the back and a 9.5 MP selfie camera.
Vivo X90 Pro
Vivo is expected to launch the Vivo X90 Pro, the successor to its X80 Pro smartphone, in India in 2023. The company has already introduced the X90 series in its home country of China. It will be one of the few devices with the Dimensity 9200 chipset to launch in India.
The X90 Pro has a Q9 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Dimensity 9200 chipset. It has a triple rear camera with Zeiss T* coating and a 32MP selfie camera. The company has also upgraded fast charging and adds support for 120W charging.
