Prime Video today confirmed the main talent of the Indian episode of the Citadel universe, the first of its kind global event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. The nameless Citadel series from India is led by renowned creator duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), the showrunners and directors of the series, and Varun Dhawan will play the lead role. Written by Sita R. Menon along with Raj & DK, the local Original spy series, which begins filming in January 2023, marks Dhawan’s streaming debut. The untitled Indian Original Citadel series will be available to Prime members in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.

As previously announced, Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas will star in the first-launched series within the Citadel universe, which co-emerges with David Weil from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and will premiere in 2023. In addition to Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the first Citadel series will also feature Stanley Tucci. Other local language Citadel productions are also in the works, including an Italian Original series starring Matilda De Angelis.
