In Focus, Vijay Shankar plays the lead role and Ashu Reddy has the female lead. The film, directed by Surya Teja and produced by Relax Movie Makers, hit theaters today. So let’s see how it is.
Story :
Pramodha Devi (Suhasini Maniratnam) is about to become a Supreme Court judge. Her husband Vivek Varma (Bhanu Chander), a police officer, is suddenly murdered. SI Vijay Shankar (Vijay Shankar) takes on the task of arresting the criminal. During this murder investigation, Vijay learns about many angles related to the murder. In particular, the doubt emanates from three people, and there is no clarity as to why the police are scratching their heads. Hence, the case would be handed over to CBI Officer Prema (Ashu Reddy). What did Vijay Shankar do about this case? Who killed Vivek Varma? What is Pramodha Devi’s role in this entire episode? How did the story end? This is part of the rest of the movie.
Pros:
The biggest positive factor of the film is the point of view of the makers and the background of the film. Lead role Vijay Shankar impresses with his act. Vijay Shankar’s body language is clear and he performed well in a few investigative and suspense-filled scenes. Ashu Reddy, who acted as the lead actress, looked vibrant and gorgeous on screen, though her role barely had any scope.
Suhasini Maniratnam, who played a pivotal role, did very well. Also Bhanu Chander and Bharath Reddy were good too. The rest of the cast is good in their respective roles. Director G Surya Teja’s storyline and a few exciting sequences are decent.
Cons:
Focus film lost focus on the script. Of course, you need to have a thrilling and intriguing story while dealing with thrilling thrillers to captivate the audience. But Focus completely missed those elements. In addition, many scenes appear cinematic.
The first half of the film is another drawback. Although the director tried to run the second half in an interesting way by placing the exciting elements, he lacked a lot of logic as a whole. In addition, the director failed to come up with a catchy screenplay.
The main characters in the film should have been written even better. There are also problems with the characterization of the hero. The main character’s trail is weakened at some point. A few scenes seemed artificial because they seemed overly dramatic.
Technical aspects :
Director G. Surya Teja should have put more effort into creating a compelling crime drama. Also, more care was needed with regard to the screenplay of the film. It would have been better if the makers had concentrated a bit more on the script.
Even Vinod’s music is not good. But Prabhakar’s cinematography has helped the film to some extent and the frames are in keeping with the theme of the film. The production values are brilliant.
verdict :
Overall, Focus only draws the audience in a few parts. A few exciting scenes came out well. Suhasini and Vijay Shankar impress with their performances. However, the slow narration, dull handling, and lack of a strong point of conflict were the main setbacks that ultimately brought the film down.
