While the first week of December brings many highly anticipated movies to moviegoers such as An Action Hero, Freddy, HIT: The Second Case, and Mother, the second week also has many movies ranging from fantasy, horror, thriller, and action to offer the audience via cinema and OTT.
There is a series of movies that will be released on December 9, both in theaters and digitally. Here we have collected the names of the movies that are ready to entertain you this weekend.
1- Blurred
directed: Ajay Bahl
The film is produced by Zee Studios and is expected to be released directly on Zee5. It stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead role with Gulshan Devaiah and Kruttika Desai in the supporting roles. The film is an official Hindi remake of the Spanish film Julia’s Eyes, as well as Pannu’s first production venture under her banner, Outsiders Films.
2-Marrich
Director: Dhruv foam
The film marks the return of Tusshar Kapoor to the big screen after a long time. He is also producing the project under his Tusshar Entertainment House in association with NH Studioz. He plays the cop in this mystery thriller, which also stars veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and Anita Hassanandani Reddy.
3- Salaam Venky

The Hindi drama film Salaam Venky produced by Suraj Singh and Shraddha Agarwal stars Kajol and Vishal Jethwa in the lead roles. The other actors on board playing pivotal roles are Aahana Kumra, Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Prakash Raj, Anant Mahadevan, etc. The film will hit theaters on 9 December 2022.
4- Pippa
Director: Raja Krishna Menon
The biographical war film is based on the life of Brigadier General Balram Singh Mehta of the 45th Cavalry Tank Squadron, who fought on the Eastern Front with his siblings during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, Bollywood budding actor Ishaan Khattar stars as the legendary war hero, with Mrunal Thakur, Priyankshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan in pivotal roles. The film will be released in theaters on December 9, after being delayed from December 2.
5- Vadh
Director: Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Rajeev Barnwal
The film arrives in cinemas and stars veteran Bollywood actors Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in the lead roles. Produced by J Studio and Next Level Productions, the film is set in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh and the plot revolves around a middle-aged couple who lead a very simple and happy life until the husband, who is a retired teacher, ends up killing a man.

Life is Good is a movie from life starring veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff as a middle-aged man. It will be released in theaters on December 9. It is produced by Anand Shukla under his Anand Shukla production and also stars Rajit Kapoor, Mohan Kapoor, Darshan Jairwala, Ananya Vij, Sunita Sen and Nakul Sahdev in key roles.
7- Varalaru Mukkiyam
Director: Santosh Rajan
Starring Jiiva, Kashmira Pardeshi and Pragya Nagra in the lead roles, the Tamil romantic comedy-drama will hit theaters on December 9, 2022. Shot extensively in Chennai, Coimbatore and Hyderabad, the film is the 37th project of Jiiva’s career and is being produced by RB Choudary under his banner, “Super Good Films.”
8-Vijayanand
Director: Rishika Sharma
Based on the life of Padma Shree winner and Indian businessman Vijay Sankeshwar, the chairman of India’s largest logistics firm VRL Group, the biographical film stars Kannada actor Nihal Rajput in the titular role with Bharath Bopanna, Anant Nag, Ravi Chandran, Prakash Belawadi, Siri Prahalad, Archana Kottige and Anish Kuruvilla in pivotal roles.
9- Autumn
Director: Scott Mann
The survival thriller, which was released in the United States on August 12, 2022, will make its way to India after grossing around $19 million worldwide.
Starring Grace Caroline Currey, Virginia Gardener, Mason Gooding and Jeffrey Dean Morgon, the film arrives in Indian theaters on December 9. It follows two women who climb a 2,000-foot radio tower and become stranded at the top with no way to go down.
10-Cheppalani Undi
Director: Arun Barathi L
Cricketer turned actor Yash Puri will be seen in the social comedy Telugu film Cheppalani Undi. It arrives in cinemas on December 9. Along with Yash, it has Stefy Patel, Sathya, and Prudhvi Raj, among others.
It is directed by Arun Barathi L and produced by RB Chaudhary under Super Good Films. Yash plays a journalist in his debut film, which revolves around how a small incident before an interview changes things forever.
11- DR 56
Director: Rajesh AnandaLeela
The Kannada movie DR56 was set to be released on 9 December in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam dubbed versions. The lead role is played by Priyamani, Praveen Reddy T, and Raj Deepak Shetty, Ramesh Bhat and Manjunath Hegde, among others.
