The nominations for the Golden Globes were announced for India on Monday with much excitement; RRR scored two nominations – Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. The honor roll was peppered with other bits of excitement, like Brendan Fraser earning a Best Actor (Drama) nomination for his comeback performance in The whale. Several usual suspects showed up in different categories – Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie are up for their appearances in Babylon, Daniel Craig for Glass onion and Austin Butler Elvis.
The Best Actress (Drama) category is full of formidable names – Ana De Armas leading the way Blond, Cate Blanchett for TarOlivia Colman for rich in lightViola Davis for The Queen of Women and Michelle Williams The Fables.
The television awards also featured a list of Golden Globe veterans, including Zendaya, Laura Linney, Bob Odenkirk, Donald Glover, and Bill Hader. All three Only kills in the building stars – Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin – are nominated, as is the show.
The Golden Globes will take place in Los Angeles on January 10 (early morning of January 11 for India) and will be hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
