For months, the internet has been abuzz with discussions surrounding Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Expectations were high, of course, as the build-up had been going on for over eight years. When the movie finally came out, it got extreme feedback from the audience. While some raved about it, others simply wrote it off as the worst movie ever made.

A lot of people, including yours truly, patiently waited for the film’s release on OTT and kept their opinions reserved until then.
Now that Brahmastra is finally out on OTT, it’s not wrong to say that the film is mediocre at best. The story had potential, but it was told in the most sloppy way.
Mukerji was more fixated on the love story than the astras and so it fell flat.
Interestingly, the power of movie buffs is so strong that director Ayan Mukerji re-edited the film for its streaming release. He went back and adapted the love story of Shiva and Isha after considering all the feedback from the public.

Speaking of the same with Bollywood Hungama, Ayan revealed, “It’s subtle stuff, so you might not realize it unless you’ve seen the movie three or four times.”
The tweaks usually include lingering stares and stray lines of dialogue.
He also addressed the rumors that Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan and KGF celebrity Yash are being approached for the role of Dev for the next episode: “I’m sure they will say Prabhas after this. I can’t say anything about it, but it’s fun.”

However, the OTT verdict is well known and it is not as clear as one would have hoped. The internet has pulled out all the stops to express their distaste and disappointment with the film. Check out their reactions here:
I can’t believe director Ayan worked for this for 10 years #brahamastra Franchise and couldn’t even deliver a worthy predecessor
So many mistakes, Isha herself is a big one

If it weren’t for the HYPE and the paid media attention and reviews, #brahamastra would have been a BIG flop.
What a horrible old fashioned movie. Ali Baba Chalis choir

#brahamastra the core concept of the movie is good but they failed to execute it in writing and directing the story..we didn’t feel any connection to anyone in the movie..dialogues were soooo stupid..calling alia shivaa was so annoying..time waste

Oh #brahamastra is unbearable. Doesn’t look like a product from India’s largest production house. Dialogues are cringing AF. leads have no chemistry

Watched #brahamastra On @DisneyPlusHS
It was like watching a cheap one? #HarryPotter rendition, except Harry was actually Voldemort’s son here and Lily was much hotter than expected.
It was so bad you had to endure it to see if it could get any worse. #Brahmāstra

#Brahmastra A wannabe Marvel movie with the least exploration of Indian culture…

In #Brahmastra, there are cringe dialogues, cringe love story, just a crappy script, animation like VFX, faltuke songs and unacceptable casting… This movie is full of irrelevance yet trending. This shows that Indians don’t really want good movies. Happy with shit.
