Photorealism and realistic game mechanics have become two of the most important aspects of good graphics in games. The increasing demand for better visuals has changed gaming technologies for decades. In 2022 we found more titles competing for the top spot.
Here are our top five picks for the upcoming games with realistic-looking graphics and stunning visuals.
Marvel’s Spider-man 2 and 4 other upcoming graphically heavy games
1) Marvel’s Spiderman 2
The long awaited Marvel’s Spiderman 2sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man and its spin-off Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, is expected to be released sometime in 2023. Following the huge success of its prequel, this one is expected to tick all the boxes for fans awaiting the return of our favorite web-slinger.
Originating from insomnia studios, it won’t be a surprise if the graphics on this one exceed expectations. The featured video on the official website teases dynamic footage of Peter teaming up with Miles to take down their enemies.
The trailer opens with Kraven’s creepy story declaring his thirst for the hunt as we watch the Spider-Man duo kick off thugs. So it can be concluded that we will see the fighter in action.
However, the show stealer turned out to be Venom. The long-awaited nemesis of the web-slinger finally makes his appearance, no doubt brewing a battle of epic proportions for the duo.
While the release date has yet to be announced, Insomniac promises that “things are on track” and that players will be taking their chances over the next year.

2) Hogwarts legacy
Who here hasn’t had a desire to explore the vast and magical wizarding world of Hogwarts? Well, Portkey Games and Avalanche bring a fresh new take on the fantasy world of witchcraft and wizardry with Hogwarts legacy. It has a release window of February 10, 2023.
The storyline is set in the late 19th century and aims to depict the old days of Hogwarts. The hefty gameplay that has been released gives quite detailed depictions of the beautiful tides, the serene moors and the moody wilderness you would expect in line with that era. Not to mention, the beautiful castle interiors touch the mysterious aura of the fantasy world.
The game mainly revolves around the freedom of the players and exploring the world. The protagonist is dropped midway through his fifth year as a transfer student whose character build will be fully customizable.
You will then have to work your way through the story, take lessons, learn spells, discover collectibles, upgrade their character and endure loads of battles. From trolls to dragons, this game has it all.
It also has a decision-based outcome system that provides alternate endings for the choices made throughout. Apart from that, the game also opens the Dark Forest, the Room of Requirement and Hogsmeade for free roaming. This is why Hogwarts Legacy is easily one of the most highly anticipated releases since its reveal.

3) Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Simply put, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a trip down memory lane. Since the trailer dropped, Ubisoft has revealed its modern-day embrace of the old ways, which focuses primarily on one large playable map rather than extensive open-world hyper-interactivity.
The game follows Basim Ibn Ishaq, a young thief on the streets of ninth-century Baghdad. He is then recruited by the “Hidden Ones” to fight and defeat the “Order of the Ancient Ones”, who will later be known as the Brotherhood and the Templars, respectively.
The storyline is compact with limited decision making and focuses more on the old fashioned stories of the beginning Assassin’s Creed games. From stealth mechanics, parkour and story to characterizations, Mirage is likely to prove to be a young, energetic and engaging descendant of Brotherhood and Revelations.

Even the protagonist’s aesthetic is vaguely watermarked by Ezio and Altair, arguably the most famous characters in the series. The white hooded robe and iconic hidden blade will surely bring back all the feelings in 2023.
As usual, the Ubisoft team’s rigorous historical research is more than admirably displayed in the world-building details. While the story takes place much earlier than the others, the team has not shied away from bringing in brighter and more vibrant color palettes to capture Baghdad’s rich golden age.

4) Pronounced
To leaveSquare Enix’s upcoming Unreal Engine 5-based title, is an open-world action-adventure RPG set to be released on January 24, 2023, following the October delay.
The in-game world parallels much of the New World-esque anime where Frey Holland, the protagonist, is transported from her life in New York to the mystical land of Athia. This follows her adventure as she tries to find a way back home.
From magical skills to hardcore parkour, the game’s combat mechanics bring those of the Devil May Cry series. The purgatory moves and highly defined elemental effects provide an essentially satisfying experience for the players.

Built primarily for console players, the game seems to hint at stylish and fluid attack chains that deliver stunning visuals for streamers.
The game’s gloomy and moody vibes blend perfectly with the sleek modern interactions. It offers a huge variety of gears and magical abilities that can be tricky to follow, often leading to complicated controls. The map is filled with side quests and collectibles that provide a wide variety of upgrades.
In short, Frospoken appears to be a game with stunning visuals and great moves, and fans are excited to see what the DLCs have to offer in the upcoming summer release.

5) STALKER Heart of Chernobyl
When it comes to realism, the STALKER series has been one of the most talked about games since the last decade. Their upcoming release, Heart of Chernobylis building up to become their best yet.
The story sticks to the traditional non-linear and decision-based format with the protagonist, Skif (according to the trailer), winding through the “Zone”, a fictionalized version of the biohazard site in Chornobyl. A power plant explosion has created strange anomalies and supernatural effects that have given rise to strange mutated creatures and sci-fi artifacts with various abilities.
The game takes us through ominous landscapes with a sense of impending doom. The protagonist is forced to survive everything from radiation zones and mutated monsters to various skirmishes between the factions that have formed over time to exploit the place.
The main focus of the game is survival mechanics and tactics that are as realistic as possible. There’s no sight (except in scopes), the collectibles aren’t marked in animations, and the gun firing actions are programmed to fail, if not taken care of regularly.
The title retains its previous features of Hunger, Stamina, Radiation, Restrictive Inventory, and Weapon Maintenance. The artifacts will prove to be valuable assets for trade or personal use. In addition, the battle sequences will have no hit markers, keeping players on their toes and using their common sense.
Multiple delays have put a hold on the release that was scheduled for this year, but it looks like we’ll be seeing Heart of Chornobyl soon sometime in 2023.
